The Cool Kids Anxiety Program© is a skills based program and involves the child or adolescent and their parents in
sessions.  


Topics include:

  • Learning about feelings and anxiety
  • Detective and learning to think more realistically
  • Fighting fear by facing fears (stepladders)
  • Learning to solve a problem
  • Building assertiveness and dealing with teasing
  • Ways that parents can help

The Cool Kids Anxiety Program© treats diagnosed anxiety disorders including:

  • Separation anxiety disorder
  • Generalised Anxiety Disorder (GAD)
  • Social Phobia
  • Panic Disorder
  • Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD)
  • Specific Phobia’s

Ryde Psychology Clinic uses the Cool Kids Anxiety Program© designed by the Centre for emotional Health at Macquarie University.  This 10 week program teaches children and their parents how to better understand and cope with an anxiety disorder.  It is designed for children and adolescents from preschool to 17 years of age.  The Cool Kids Anxiety Program© has a proven record with 80% of children showing a reduction in symptoms. ​

Anxiety can impact on many aspects of a child’s life.  It can reduce their ability to function at their full potential and result in isolation and feelings of low self-esteem.

Anxiety Clinic

Treatment sessions are conducted in the child’s own home with flexible session times to allow for parental involvement.

This program incorporates 1:1 sessions between the psychologist and the child, parent sessions and homework activities.
